For sixteen years, many Falun Gong practitioners have done their shifts at this vigil. People often take these display boards for granted. Little do they know that practitioners have put a lot of hard work into them for them to look the way they do now.

This video clip captures just a small part of their efforts.

Ben grew up seeing how the display boards evolved. Back when the boards were wide, just like what Zhiyi had shown us in the video, Ben would crawl underneath to take naps. Today, every time Ben returns from his annual world tour with Shen Yun, he sees the improvements at the vigil site: The meditation mat is propped up higher with a wood frame to remain dry on rainy days; the pamphlet box and signing board have all been laminated to be waterproof; Lilach, the Israeli girl, installed solar lights on the display boards so that people could read them in evenings too. She even brought a tablet with a waterproof cover, which she used for looping Falun Gong related videos.

In the storage space at the vigil site, you can always find printed pamphlets, meditation mats, raincoats, blankets, and warm jackets–When we interviewed Amy, she wore a blue winter jacket with the words “Falun Dafa” on it. That was on a June evening. That same night, Xiao Long wore a yellow shirt for doing the exercises, and underneath was a down jacket.

During the film shoot, I watched with a look of surprise on my face as practitioners took out printed materials and all kinds of warm clothes and materials from the storage unit as if this was their own home. I asked them who brought these things over, they often had a puzzled expression.

The only thing we know is that many people have done their part to help without leaving their names. Thanks to them, more people can learn the facts of Falun Dafa, and the practitioners doing shifts can stay warm and dry on tough days.
