Today we tell the story of two extraordinary women.
The first is Crystal Chen. She was born into a family of musicians in Guangzhou. With the grace and wit of a southern Chinese girl, while still in primary school, she was given major roles in several movies and TV shows. The other is Joyce Jiao who was born in Beijing. With the bold uninhibited energy of a northern girl, she helped propel China’s largest web portal - Sohu, as one of the company’s earliest employees, and once served as general manager of the company’s southern China office.
These two women, with completely different backgrounds and life trajectories, were nevertheless destined to meet. They became friends for life, and witnessed the most tortuous events of an era.
